What JuryFree does
JuryFree researches publicly available jury-service requirements and procedures and presents that information in plain language.
For certain products, JuryFree formats information that you wrote yourself into a document appropriate to the applicable court or county.
For other products, JuryFree provides company-authored informational materials based upon its research, including materials intended to help you understand what a physician, employer, or other person may need to provide.
JuryFree does not decide whether you qualify for an excuse, postponement, deferral, disqualification, or other form of relief.
JuryFree does not tell you that a court will grant your request.
The court makes that decision.
JuryFree does not choose your legal strategy
JuryFree does not select a legal strategy for you, determine the legal position you should take, or advise you which legal argument, exemption, excuse, defense, or procedural option you should pursue.
Where the JuryFree website presents available routes or procedures for a particular county, that information is provided as researched factual information about the procedures identified by JuryFree. You remain responsible for deciding whether to use a particular procedure and, when appropriate, for confirming the current procedure with the applicable court or obtaining advice from a licensed attorney.
For products based on your own writing, JuryFree does not determine what facts you should state or what argument you should make. You provide the substance; JuryFree’s role is limited to the service described for the product you purchased.
Your words and your responsibility
When a JuryFree product is based on information you provide, the facts and words are yours.
You are responsible for making sure that everything you provide is accurate and truthful.
You are also responsible for reviewing any document before submitting it and for making sure that anything you sign, certify, or submit under penalty of perjury is true.
JuryFree does not independently verify the facts contained in your submission.
If a court document asks you to certify something that is not true about your circumstances, you should not sign it merely because it appears in a template. Contact the applicable court or consult a licensed attorney.
Court rules can change
JuryFree researches county and court requirements using available sources.
Some information has been confirmed against a primary source; other information has not been independently confirmed with the applicable county or court. Where applicable, JuryFree identifies the status of its research.
Courts may change forms, procedures, deadlines, addresses, contact information, and requirements without notice.
Accordingly, information provided by JuryFree may become outdated or may not reflect a subsequent change by the court.
You are responsible for reviewing the information provided to you and for confirming current requirements when appropriate.
Deadlines
Jury-service requests can be subject to strict deadlines.
JuryFree may identify a deadline in the information it provides, but you are responsible for meeting the applicable deadline.
You are also responsible for submitting your document to the appropriate court or other recipient in the manner required.
JuryFree does not guarantee that a document submitted after a deadline will be accepted or considered.
Some courts do not allow a JuryFree document
Not every jury-service procedure requires or permits a letter or other document prepared by a juror.
Where the applicable court’s own form is the required mechanism and does not provide a place for the customer’s own written explanation, JuryFree does not sell a substitute document merely to create one.
If the court requires its own form, you should use the court’s form and follow the court’s instructions.
Physician and employer materials
Some JuryFree products are intended to be given to a customer’s physician or employer.
These products do not mean that the physician or employer is required to provide the requested information or that the court will accept it.
The physician, employer, or other third party is responsible for the information they provide and any certification or signature they make.
No guarantee of an outcome
Purchasing a JuryFree product does not mean that you qualify for relief from jury service.
It does not mean that a court will excuse you, postpone your service, defer your service, disqualify you, or grant any other request.
JuryFree makes no representation regarding the likelihood of any particular outcome.
Jury duty scam warning
JuryFree will never call you demanding money
Jury duty scams commonly involve someone claiming to be a court officer, law-enforcement officer, sheriff, marshal, or other official and threatening arrest or other consequences because someone supposedly missed jury duty.
The caller may demand immediate payment to avoid arrest or other action.
That is not JuryFree.
JuryFree does not telephone people to demand payment for missed jury duty.
JuryFree does not demand money to prevent arrest.
JuryFree does not issue arrest warrants.
JuryFree does not represent any court.
JuryFree does not collect court fines or penalties.
JuryFree has no authority to arrest you or determine whether you have complied with a jury summons.
JuryFree will not call you and tell you that you must pay money immediately to avoid arrest because of jury duty.
If someone calls claiming to represent JuryFree and demands payment, do not provide payment or personal information to that caller. Verify the matter independently through the contact information published by the applicable court or government agency.
JuryFree has no connection with any court
JuryFree is an independent private company.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting on behalf of any court, jury commissioner, sheriff, marshal, law-enforcement agency, or other governmental entity unless expressly stated otherwise.
